What you will learn

If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI Open Water Diver course – the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba course. Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course.

Prerequisites

To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

Course Logistics

In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank. The equipment you wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water.

PADI’s Online Training program is designed so that you can learn the academics at your own pace when it is convenient for you. You can complete the academics online or at the dive shop.

All rental gear that is required for the course (weights, tanks, wetsuit, regulator, and BCD) is included in the price. The only items of gear that are not included are masks, fins, snorkels, and booties. Our wonderful staff is more than happy to help you find the best gear for your needs in the store before class.

You will be certified in as little as two weeks! Your eLearning will take about a week or so at a steady pace. Once you have completed the eLearning you will come into the dive shop for a scheduled class. This is the day you will be taking a quiz, meeting your instructor, getting fitted for your rental gear, and doing any last minute shopping for anything you might need. Next you will begin your pool training on a scheduled day within that same weekend. Your instructor will put into practice the techniques you learned in the academics program. We do our confined water pool training at McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic Center in Scottsdale. Your training dives will be logged and approved by your instructor before you move on to open water. Your open water checkout dives will be completed on scheduled days following the weekend of your confined water training. Checkout dives are conducted at Lake Pleasant, and that’s it you will be a PADI certified open water scuba diver!

Get ready to experience everything you’ve learned with the freedom of open water. As soon as your open water training dives are approved by your instructor you will be a certified diver. PADI Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide so your diving experiences will be limitless.

Modifications to this course are completely doable! If you would prefer to do your checkout dives at different location (referral out) or you are visiting Arizona and would like to complete your check out dives with us (referral in), we can accommodate you! We are a 5 star PADI facility and can complete any course. Please call Sea 2 Sea Scuba and find out more about the modifications that can be made to get you scuba certified!
