  • Setting up for a deep dive
  • Underwater Compass Use
  • How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks, and time
  • How to better use your dive computer and dive tables
  • More advanced buoyancy theory
  • Dive planning for limited visibility and/or night diving
  • More about underwater communication and buddy/team diving techniques
  • Dive leadership skills
  • Introduction to new levels of diving

Course Logistics

  • Classroom Sessions: 1
  • Required Dives: 5

The AOW Diver course typically consists of one classroom session and two days of open water dives. The classroom session gives the instructor time to discuss
the knowledge reviews with the student prior to doing the dives. Typically, we do three dives on the first day and two on the second but it can be spread out
as needed.
